The Parish Vision is founded on the Mission of the Church, that is, to work for our own salvation, and help one another to embrace the same mission. In this vision, each member of the Church has been entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening the Church in one way or the other.

KEY OBJECTIVE:

To Support and strengthen our Church Ministries & Small Groups. 

With 50+ ministries and small groups we have at Shepherd of the Valley Parish, this is a clear testimony that the Church’s vision is not one man’s business. The growth and strength of the Church depends on each one’s participation because we all need one another; for we are a community of faith, journeying together in faith. 

KEY STRATEGIES:

In order to achieve the key objective, we have three strategies:

A-  Every Parishioner needs to be involved in at least one Ministry / Small Group (click to view)

B- All ministries / small groups need to have a Leader and an Assistant

C- Nine ministry areas have been identified as *high priority* requiring full parish support:

1. The development of our Church Premises in terms of needed structures.

2. Attention to Increased reverence and Liturgical understanding at the Mass; Attending Mass on Sundays & Holy Days of Obligation

3. Youth and Young Adult ministry 

4. Ongoing Formation for children in Spanish & in English who have already received first Holy Communion

5. OCIA / Initiation into the Catholic Church & Sacramental Prep (Baptism, 1st Comm, Confirmation)

6. Ongoing Spiritual Exercises (incl. Parish Missions)

7. Social-economic activities 

8. Strengthening the Church Choirs

9. Supporting our Senior and Homebound Parishioners

APPRECIATION:

To all Parishioners, let me thank you for always being together in prayer, study and in other social/economic activities.  We, being the pilgrim church, are called upon to keep growing together.  Let’s continue to hold each other’s hands in prayer, accompany and support the weak and the feeble.  Each of your personal contributions, being spiritual, moral or financial, is key to building and strengthening our faith, to the praise and glory of God our Father, in the love of Christ our Lord and in the communion of the Holy Spirit.
