Grieving with great HopeSHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY’S GRIEF WORKSHOP STARTING THURSDAY, FEB. 1ST 2024
This series is 5 video-based meetings, with noon Mass and a lunch, following the Mass at the 6th meeting. The program comes with a free Participant’s Workbook. This series is prayerful, practical, and personal. It has helped thousands of people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. This series teaches that grief is a natural reaction to loss, and mourning is our intentional response. Mourning is what we do with the pain we feel. This series is designed for group discussions; as such, during the first four sessions, there is time for “Grief Peer Group” discussions, if the participant would like to share in a safe and validating environment. CLASSES ARE tHURSDAYS: feb. 1st, 8TH, 15TH, 22nD, AND 29TH FROM 10:00-12:00 P.M. in the clow classroom in the church. Last meeting is noon mass and potluck lunch on March 7th. facilitators are joyce marks and fr. silverino
This class is community based. Participants have time to share what is on their minds and hearts in a very personal and safe way that is validating. Although you don't have to share if you don't want to. The Holy Spirit brings strangers together to become friends. People realize they are no longer alone. They feel comfortable sharing stories. This gives their grief a voice, an expression, which is a very important part of the Healing process.REGISTER HERE, ONLINE. NO FEE. If you have had a loved one die recently and would like to receive a booklet periodically throughout the first year to help support you through your grief we will mail that to you free of charge. We offer a quarterly booklet that is Christian based because the first year is usually the most difficult to navigate, full of firsts; first birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc., without our loved one. You can call 541-664-1050 and leave your name and number and we will contact you to set up the service.
