Shepherd Youth Ministry:
We are currently gearing up for a new year in Youth Ministry at Shepherd of the Valley. There are a lot of things happening so check back here frequently to hear about them!
September 12th is Kick off for Middle School and High School Youth Groups.
Middle School Youth Group is for youth in grades 6-8. We meet from 9:45-10:45am on Sundays in Luke. High School Youth Group begins with dinner every Sunday at 6pm. We eat dinner together and then head over to the youth room together from 6:30-8:00pm.
Our theme for the year is “Life in Christ”. John 15:5 says, “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” We will be diving into the countless ways and means by which we come to a deep relationship with Christ and live this “Life in Christ” to the fullest.
Grupo de Jóvenes es para Jóvenes quien tienen 12-17 años. El grupo es Los Miércoles de 6:30-8:00 en el salón san Lucas. El tema de este año es “Vida en Cristo”. A través de este lente veremos las enseñanzas de la Iglesia. El Evangelio de Juan 15, 5 nos dice, “Yo soy la vid y ustedes los sarmientos. El que permanece en mí y yo en él, ése da mucho fruto, pero sin mí no pueden hacer nada.”
Tambien vamos a iniciar clases de confirmacion otra vez. El diez de octubre es la primera clase de confirmacion para todos los padres y los jovenes que quieren estar en el programa.
We are also starting up Confirmation classes again. The Confirmation program is for youth in ninth grade or higher who have not yet received the Sacrament. The first class is October 10th at 5pm in Luke. All parents and youth interested in Confirmation preparation please plan on attending. Below you will find the registration form for Confirmation.
Okay, one more thing, we are also starting a young adult group here at Shepherd of the Valley! This group is for “Young Adults” people who are 18+ to gather together as young Catholics to celebrate our Faith. It is a group for us to grow together in greater understanding and also in fellowship. If you are interested contact me with your e-mail and/or phone number so we can get you on the list for information.
